What is the Pocket Share Button?<\/a>

The\u00a0Pocket Share Button<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0allows Pocket users to easily share to Pocket to save your content with a single click.\u00a0<\/strong>They don\u2019t need to open up the app \u2013 they don\u2019t even need to have a browser extension installed. One click on the Pocket share button and your blog post, video, or web page will be saved in their Pocket list for them to read later.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What is Pocket?<\/a>

Pocket used to be known as \u201cRead it Later\u201d, and \u2013 as you might imagine \u2013 it allows users to save content that they\u2019ve found on the web to read later.\u00a0<\/strong>If you publish detailed, long-form content, visitors might not have time to read it all immediately. With the\u00a0Pocket share button<\/a>, they can save it to their Pocket list and return to it when they\u2019re ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pocket isn\u2019t a social network as such, but it does have some social features like the ability to\u00a0Explore popular content<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 meaning that if your content gets saved frequently on Pocket, it could get a lot more attention and views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pocket users can follow one another, too. If you follow someone on Pocket, you\u2019ll see their recommendations in your Recommendations feed. You won\u2019t see everything they save \u2013 only the things they choose to recommend.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pocket can be used on computers through any browser (though it has close ties with and built-in integration with Mozilla Firefox), and you can also download the Pocket app on mobile devices.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How do I find my Pocket list?<\/a>

To view your list of saved items in Pocket, simply click the \u201cMy List\u201d menu button.\u00a0<\/strong>Your items will be listed in order of when you saved them (with the most recent first). From your list, you can easily delete, archive, share, or tag items \u2013 and you can mark them as a \u201cFavorite\u201d by giving them a star \u2013 they\u2019ll then appear in your Favorites list (which is one of Pocket\u2019s filters).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Can I share my Pocket list?<\/a>

You can\u2019t share your entire Pocket list through Pocket itself (though there are third-party tools that you can use).\u00a0You can share individual items with friends, though, by using Pocket\u2019s \u201cSend to Friend\u201d feature.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your friends don\u2019t need to be using Pocket \u2013 you just need their email address. They\u2019ll get an email with a link to the item you\u2019ve shared, and they\u2019ll also get a notification in Pocket, if they are a Pocket user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can \u201cRecommend\u201d items from your list that you want to share with the people who are following you.<\/strong>\u00a0This means that these items will show up in your Profile and in your followers\u2019 Recommended feeds.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also share Pocket items to other services, like Facebook and Twitter, directly from the app.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How do you follow someone on Pocket?<\/a>

To follow someone on Pocket, you can visit their profile page on a computer, or click the \u201cAdd Friends\u201d button on your Recommended feed on a mobile.\u00a0Pocket has more instructions here<\/a>. Once you\u2019re following someone, their recommendations will appear in your Recommendations
